Surfing at Port Macquirie

The incredible bulk! (aka a wombat) :)

Hey Everybody!

So we have just left Port MacQuerie where we spent three days or so putzing around exploring and surfing. We bought a second surf board, a 7'3" short, long board (mini mal) and it has been fun to ride. We found a great little lesser known spot in Scott's Head which is just north of Port Macquerie. We had the place almost to ourselves and caught a bunch of waves.

The next night we spent the night in Macksville and we think it might be called that because of all the Mack trucks that pass through when were trying to sleep. We met a couple there from Perth that were going prospecting.

Now, we are in Coff's Harbour doing a hostel takeover for a free shower and some internets. It is a quaint little town with some nice beach breaks.

We shall write again soon and hope everyone at home is doing well!

Hunter Valley Wine Country. At one of the winerys on the tour. It was a tasty day.

Awesome! We almost ran these guys over on our way to a camp site in the Blue Mountains.

BONDI WAGON

So, we bought a car....

A 1997 Holden Commodore, similar to an opal station wagon. We have fashioned some interesting curtains in the back windows and made it look real cozy. Now we have the fun task of finding places with more than 2 hour parking in the city and safe places to sleep.

The beach is still very cold. Their has been a few warm days but not many. We went surfing yesterday and it was big and sloppy. We are hoping it gets warmer as we travel north. At the beach around sunset as the tides changed, tons of blue back or purple back (can't remember exactly) jelly fish washed up on shore. It was crazy!! And they weren't all dead.

Pizza is very expensive....just like everything else we have found, but still tasty. Beer is also VERY VERY expensive!! We have resorted to cheap boxed wine which they refer to as "goon" hehe! We go to happy hour every night almost where you can get $2.00 beers. :)

Tomorrow we head to Manly, another beach more north. And from there to Hunter Valley, aka wine country, and hopefully taste some delicious wines. Then up to Brisbane, etc, etc. We will be in touch.

G'day Mates!
